Description

The South River 15k is the first and only 15k located completely on the South River Trail. Each participant will receive a super-soft tshirt and a finisher medal.

Individual 15K Option:

Race the entire course start to finish, with chip-timed split points at 5K and 10K. Aid station also available at 5K/10K. Runners will receive 15K finisher medal.

Relay 15K Option:

Runners may form a 2 or 3 person relay.

This out and back race will have a split point at the 5K/10K line where relay members may congregate and handoff. This allows relay members to run in the following configurations:

A. Runner #1 – 10K, Runner #2 – 5K

B. Runner #1 – 5K, Runner #2 – 5K, Runner #3 – 5K

Relay Information:

Each relay will receive 1 CHIPPED BIB. Any other bibs with your team number on it will not be chipped. We will provide a race belt for the chipped bib, and relay members will hand it off at each transition point. The first runner in each relay will have to be the runner who picks up the chipped bib at number pickup. The final relay participant will return the race belt to where they picked it up from.

2-person relays – Runner #1 will complete the 1st 10k, running 7.5km to the turnaround point and then back to the 10k split point. Runner #1 will cross the split point before transferring the chipped bib to Runner #2 for the final 5k.

3-person relays – Runner #1 will run across the 5k split point before handing off their chipped bib to Runner #2. Runner #2 to run to the 7.5km turnaround point and head back to the 10k split point where they will cross the mats before handing their chipped bib to Runner #3.

Split Point Location:

The split point is located at Georgia State Perimeter. By searching “Michelle Obama Trail” on Google Maps (2946 Clifton Springs Rd, Decatur, GA 30034) you should be brought to the exact location. Volunteers will direct you the split point from the parking lot, which is about 100 feet from the trail entrance.

We couldn’t be more excited to be sponsoring the South River 15k and to be a part of the Run Horizon Community!

Athletes’ Potential was founded on the idea that the client comes first. Healthcare quality is at an all time low. Many people pay for healthcare not just with their money, but also with their time. Time is the most valuable resource we all have.

Our goal is to help our clients live a high-performance, pain-free life. At Athletes’ Potential we are all strength coaches or former high level athletes who went on to get our doctoral degrees in physical therapy. For example, check out Doc Sam who broke records at UGA while being a captain of the track team.  If you like to do CrossFit, we help you stay healthy while you train. If you love to play soccer, we help get you back on the field and keep you there so you enjoy quality time with your friends/team. If you’re a runner and have aspirations of doing your first half marathon, we’ll help you accomplish that goal!

We want our patients to know that we have their best interests at heart. We also want to be a resource for our community, coaches, athletes, and trainers around the world. We constantly put up new videospodcasts, and blog posts to help our community stay healthy and perform at their highest level.

We can’t wait to be a resource for you. Be on the lookout for all kinds of customized content coming your way to help keep you healthy as you train!
